Biochar
After seeing all of the material that was left over after the derecho of 2020, we knew there had to be a better way to use all of this material. Instead of grinding millions of yards of material, we pyrolyzed it by 90%. This means we reduced the amount of material by 90% and created a stable carbon we can incorporate into our soils that lasts for thousands of years (terra preta). There are many benefits to biochar. Bioreactors
We work with the NRCS and surrounding counties on many different pilot projects to help clean our streams. As a supplier of the best filtering material for these projects, we are on the leading edge of this practice. Reach out to us directly with any questions. Renewable Resources
Over the last several years, we have been working with the leaders in miscanthus grass technology and production. Miscanthius grass grows approximately 6-8 feet tall and is a great way to sequester carbon from the atmosphere. As a cover crop, it is a great way to reduce nitrates from leaching and has a 30-60% decrease in soil erosion compared to traditional row crops. This cover crop is a wildlife conservationist’s dream. If you want to increase your habitat on your hobby farm, you need miscanthus grass. There are many uses for miscanthus grass and we are always looking for opportunities to get these rhizomes in the ground.
